DR. BUCK'S LECTURE.
One •of the interesting things 1 about the Maori race is that it is represented, in the Parliament of the country by Ministers and members who are keen, upon any scientific work concerning theix. position as a native race. Owing to the support they have received from the- Government by their own initiative, the ethnological and. anthropological research- carried out in New Zealand is second only in the Pacific to that of the noted Bishop Museum, Honolulu. It was Dr. Buck's association with this effort that made him so valuable a member of the Pan-Pacific Congress in Australia, and enabled him to give the lectures which, so delighted his Australian audiences. It is one such lecture that Dr; Buck will deliver, illustrated by Very fine slides, in the Jellicoe Hall, on Thursday night. Eobt. Francis, Ltd., have kindly undertaken, the charge of tickets. .
