CHARGE OF ARSON.
(raass associatioit tixegbah.) DTJNEDIN, May 30. Alexander Allison appeared on remand at the Police Court this morning on a charge of having wilfully set fire to Uto stacks of oaten sheaves, valued at £9O. the property of William John Paul. Evidence was given for the prosecution, showing that ill-feel-ing existed between accused and Paul, and accused had told a constable previously that ha would rather burn tha stacks than 'let Paul Ret them. At the time of' the firo he was under the influence of liquor." Allison reserved hia defence, and was committed for trial at the Supreme Court, bail being allowed.
