Tho usual monthly rneotin? of the Wharenui School Comrnittea wai held on Wednos-, day. Present—M*ssrs T. SWphenson (ah airman), T. M. Eord, A. Staunton, A, Fisher. C. Buekctt. and J. Singleton. It was dscided to g-o into the question of completing the elootrio light in the school. A letter was received from the Board that the first aid outfit was now c.vail&bk. The Board advised the appointment of Messrs 8. P. "Wilson and D. Swanston to fill the vocanclee on the committoe. liureplv to a request for ft combined medical examination, room and teachers' room, tho Board had referred the matter to WoUington. The following resolution was passed: "That, in View of the valuable national work being carried on bv tho New Zealand Amitaur Swimming" Association among the school children of the Dominion, the request for a, monetary grant bo sent to the local member of Parliament." The headmaster reported 376 on the Toll. It was decided to advertise for a. new caretaker. The work authorised to be carried out at the school by the Board had not heen commenced, und it was decided to again wrate to the Board drawing their attention to tho, date when the worfc was authorised, namely, October 3rd, 1&23, Mr L. F. Thomson forwardpd his resignation aa second assistant ..master, owing to takihfj a position in tho Linwood school. His resignation was accspted with regret, and it was decided to express appreciation of hia splendid work in the school and on the sports ground. It was reported that arrangements.- were well in hand for tha concert to be given in the Town Hall en Saturday, June 7th, in aid of the eohool improvermsnt fund.
