WAIMAIRI SCHOOL.
The monthly meeting of the Waimairi School Committee was held on Monday evening, all the r members being present. .The chairman welcomed the, new members, Messrs Beaton, Poster and Greenslade. The headmaster reported that the average attendance for. the month had been 293, out of a roll number of 306. The main path and the assembly ground in front, of the temporary building required attention before the wet weather set in. It was decided to ask tho Board to provide screenings fpi? the, paths, and to replace the desks in the v infant room with tables and chairs. As' the new rooms would not be ready for at least two' months, the secretary was instructed to make* application for an additional stove for the wooden "building, and for an electric pump to replace the ram at present in use. Three. delegates were appointed to attend the-con-ference called by the Papaqmi Committee to consider the question of establishing a dental clinic in Papanui. In accordance ith the resolution passed at the householders' '• meeting, it as unanimously decided to apply to the Papanui Committee for a share of the proceeds of the library bonds, which matured last year. It was arranged to hold a meeting* of ladies, committeemen and teachers _ on May 28thj to discuss tlw question of raising funds for school purposes.
