A first offender was convicted and fined 6s, *in default 24 hours' imprisonment. • "AFTER .HOURS: ~ John McDonald was convicted and; fined £2 and coßts for being found on the licensed premises of the Lincoln Hotel after hours. ; Ernest Evan Watkina, 19 years of age, was, convicted and fined 20s for a similar offence, in respect of the same hotel. THEFT, Edith MoMarron, 2A years of age {Mr G. i A. G-. Connal), pleaded guilty to stealing 16 table apoons, valued at 30s, the property of Thomas Dodd, proprietor ( of the. Trocadero Hotel. ■ . , ...u-Detective-Sergeant Connelly said that | accused had been employed in the kitchen of the Trocadero Hotel and while there I she had disposed of several apoons to a ; second-hand dealer, who had later identified | the accused as the person for whom no had purchased the spoons. Accused had told the police that she did not remember having stolen them, but said that she might bava committed the theft while she ; was under thT influence of liquor He understood she had not previously bum before, Jho Court.
