Will one compnny have a monopoly of broadcasting, or will anyone bj able to broadcast anything he likes P What fees, if any, will be payable, and to whoraP The*e are but a few of the questions that are being raised and hurled at the head of the Postuiaster r General. There is a tegular battle royal between the various' interests, with amateurs and experimenters and listeners-m as bystanders, contending .themselives with throwing' an occasional brick. It is a serious subject, and it is safe to say that Aus* trahans did not, appreciate the difficulties with which Britain and America had to contend until thev were' tackled here. The "freedom of the air" is being talked of as though we were all in danger of being deprived of that necessary commodity and condemned to suffocation. Through it all the listenerin listens in, and for every .licensed aerial there are—well, it would be as well not to guess at numbers—but there is many a clothes-line in the metropolis that carries washing in the daytime, and picks up broadcasted concerts ty nlgjik ■*• -■*■
