" ' i It was stated that approximately - £3OOO had been raised in New. Zear land by schoolsand colleges during'fhe l past two years, together with consider-^! able quantities of clothing.The bulk of this was applied in tKe relief of distress in but it is noy report; ed that the greatest need at present is in Germany, and a "conference of representatives of the four university colleges'of New' Zealand .which met last Christmas, recommended that the proceeds of this year's effort- should be earmarked for Germany.
