NATIONAL BANK OF AUSTRALASIA, LTD. "ISSUE OF NEW SHARES. In consequence of the continued expansion of business of the National IBank of Australasia, Ltd., the directors of the company have re.Bolved to make available for subscription at £l2 each, by shareholders registered as on April 30th-, 1924, 46,250 £lO shares, constituting the remainder of the present authorised £lO shares of the bank. It is also turiner proposed to issue for subscription, at £6 a share, by shareholders registered on April 30th, 1924, 62,500 of the newly created id shares (paid to *'s). This last proposal is subject to the due passage of an extraordinary general meeting oi shareholders of a resolution to. that ettect. In connexion with Uthe above the following circular letter has been sent to shareholders:— "The bank's present authorised capital is £5,000,000, of which £4,537,500 has been issued. The directors advise their intention of issuing the remaining £462,500 of 1 £lO shares, which will bring the issue capital up to the existing authorisation of £5,000,000. In order to provide for the current and probable future iifcrease in the bank's business, it k proposed to reoomroend to shareholders that the authorised capital be increased to £10,000,000, of which the 62,000 £8 shares wi:i form a part." The letter then proceeds to give notice of an extraordinary general meeting, which was to have been held in Melbourne yesterday. It-also gives notice that the 'following motion would bo brought forward:— "That the capital of the company be increased to £10,000,000 by the creation of 150,000 new shares' of £lO each, and 437 500 new shares of £8 each." The l\ew Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Association sold by auction at their rooms yesterday, en-account Mr "James Spence lot 2 of his "Heslerton" property, Killinchy, 'containing 245 acres 1 rood 39 perches, to Mr George Pearce, of Brookside, at £34 10s an acre. On Saturday,, on account of the trustees of Mr Earl, they sold 48 acres, more or less, and homestead buildings,. at Killinchy to Mr John Spence, Killinchy, at £35 an acre. „

THE PROPERTY MARKET. "At their rooms yesterday P. S. Nicholls and Co., Ltd., sold by auction, a small farm at Templeton, comprising 25 acres, account of the mortgagee, to Sir Joseph Bailey for £1550. There is some enquiry for good lines of fowl. wheat, and prices remain at 5s per bushel, Bacts extra. Large supplies of potatoes are coming forward and are .meeting with a rather poor demand. Only choice lots are.enquired for. Best tables are realising up to £6 'ss per ton, supplies of chaff continue to be heavy. BEEF MARKET AND LONDON SLUMP.

(PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.) WAIROA, April 16.

A case of importance to primary producers was heard nt the Magistrate's Court, when the Wairoa, Meat Company sued Eustace Lane, sheepfarmer, for £lf6 7s Bd, the balance owing; on a shipment of beef during the recent slump in London. ' This consignment had resulted in a loss, ■which the defendant refused to pay, alleging that the company showed negligence, as his agents, concerning the Bale instructions. Much evidence was taken, both sides contradicting each other regarding the verba,! instructions. The Magistrate (Mr Levvey) said he could not support, the company's case, and gave judgment for defendant with costs.

SALE OF FURNITURE. Jones, McCrostie Company, Ltd., held a successful clearing sale on account of Mr W. H. E. Wanklyn, at his residence, Fendalton road, on Tuesday. Amongst the articles sold the following prices were realised: Garden roller £lO, Chesterfield £B, four chairs £lO, gramophone £l9, carpet £l9, rug £2 15s, table and five chairs £8 Bs, secretaire £5 15s, oak clock £ll, bookcase £7, duchesse £5 IQSj cupboards £2 15s and £3.
