DOMAIN BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. The Christchurch Domain Board met yesterday. Present: Mr G. Harper tchairman), Dr Chas. Chilton, tho Mayor (Mr J. A. Flesher), Messrs A. W. Owlcs, McGregor 11. Wright, "W. H. In the course of his report, the curator stated that a start . liad been: made to put tho paths through Hagley Park in good A letter was received from Mr P. A. Kitchingham, Grcyinouth, enquiring if the Board would allow its curator Mr J. Young, to visit tho town and give the Beautifying Committee somo points in tho matter "of beautifying the town. The matter was referred to the chairman, with power to act. * A letter was recoived from Iho general manager, municipal electricity department, Christchurch, asking permission to open up a ground in the South. Hagley Park for an underground feeder. After a brief discussion, in which it was pointed out (hat tho feeder would run through a cricket ground, it was decided that the Gardens Committee should confer with the Department with a view to selecting a more suitable route. Mr K. B. Owen wrote asking when the Gardcnß Committee would bo ready to confer with the subcommittee of the Bandsmen's Memorial with respect to the allocation of a site for the memorial. • The secretary (Mr W. P. Hilson) tatd that Mr Owen had told him it was not nccessarv for the conference to bo held until plans had been sent in. This had not vet been done. The letter was received. . When the question of the annual levy was brought up. H was suggested that the amount this year should be /° J °P.
