MOTOR SPIRITS.
TO THE EDITOR OF "THE ?BESS." Sir,—Has the everyday motorist any redress for short measure in the regulation "petrol tin" stated to hold four gallons ? As a newcomer to motoring, I was disagreeably surprised to find, on piercing my third tin (of one of the best known brands) an overplus of air space. The contents after careful measuring checked 1$ pints short. In discussing the matter with others since, 1 learned Ahat a slight shortage is generally accepted as the inevitable, but surely 1£ pints shortage in four gallons is excessive.—Yours, etc., FULL MEASURE.
