DUNEDIN, March 7. All fruit continues to be quickly bought up. Nectarines and plums meet an especially good demand. Dessert apples are now on the market from Ne.son and Otago Central. The supplies of tomatoes, owing to the dry weather, are now drawing to a close. Grapes meet with a ready sale. POULTRY AND EGGS. Large entries of poultry came forward during the week and prices were good for first-class birds. Prices a pair were: —Table chickens 5s to 15s, hens 2s to 6s, ducks 4s to 9s, ducklings 4s to 10s, geese 7s to 9s, turkeys 14s to 225, pullete 6a to 19s. The Canterbuiy Co-op. Poultry Producers' Ltd., report that during the week the supply of eggs 6howed a falling off and that prices have a hardening tendency. Price!" for "Chain" brand are: —First grade hen eggs Is Sd, second grade hen eggs Is 7d, duck egffa Is Sd.

PAHIATUA EWE FAIR. MASTERTON, March 7. At the Pahiatua ewe fair 17,000 sheep were yarded, and all were disposed of except 650, the 16,350 sold averaging 24s each. The quality -was well up to former years, although in come instances lacking the usual good condition, especially those coming from the parts of the district which had been afiected by the recent dry weather.

The bulk of the four-year-old and five-year-old ewes, suitable for crossing with Southdown rams, were secured by Manawatu buyers. Other outside district buyers operating came from To Kuiti, Stratford, Waikanae, Hastings, Sandon and Cambridge. The Akitio Station consignment was the outstanding entry of the five-year-old ewes, the 1200 Komney cross making, 25s lid to 263 3d, and the Lincoln cross 24s to 24a 6d. The four-tcoth ewe 3 from the same station sold from 25s to 28s.
