In the House of Commons, Mr C. G. Ammon (Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty) stated that the question of holding a naval review at Spitheaa at the end of July, in connexion with the Empire Exhibition, was being considered. Dr. J. H. Jowett, the eminent Congregationalist divine who died on December 19th, left £17,673. Sydney reports that the death sentence on Johnston, for murdering Mrs Price, has been commuted to imprisonment for life.
