BRIGAND CHIEF CAUGHT.

The police have arrested the notorious brigand chief, Tcharuga Stanisval Jevics, whose band terrorised the Neu : satz district of Hungary for two years, during which they looted many villages, robbed hundreds of travellers, and killed a score of people. , Stanisval Jevics was living at Nincovce, and, under the alias of Nikola Brezzics, he conducted ■ a profitable business as forwarding agent for loading citizens who visited Brekova. Under the name of Balies he made love to a girl, but subsequently disappeared. The. girl tracked him and consulted the police, who found that the man she loved was identical with Brezzics. Further investigations revealed .the fact that Brezzics was Jevics. Police surrounded his houso during the night and arrested him in bed. Ho confessed that he had murdered eight persons.'
