The party left the shore to go to Glasgow's launch for a cruise, lhe dinghy was in bad repair and was overloaded. It filled and capsized m a choppy sea. Brien, another occupant told the girls and children to catch hold of the boat. He then swam ashore, obtained another boat and rescued them, hut the others had gone. The bodies were recovered in about an hour.
