The Annetto Kellerman Cup contest saw a good race between the limit moil for first place. With a strong tido to help them they set a pace which, tho back-markers found too hot. At half way Reid led by 50 yards from Harper, but tho latter, striking the current, took tho lead- and maintained it to tho finish. Tho two la-dy competitors, Miss Nutta.il and Miss Imandt, finished twelfth and fifteenth respectively. The first Canterbury man to finish was McTigue, who was on the same mark H 3 Sutherland, tho latter pulling out after going half a rriilo. Rcardon gained fourteenth place, with Hill Wilson, last year's winner, off the scratch, mark, was fourth to last, with Moorhousc next. In a field of 23, all eave two finished, and the times wore good all thrdugh. The 440yd3 men's championship -will eeo a good race, with Atkinson's chances slightly favoured. It is doubtful if Batehelor will bo a starter. Tho 100 yds intermediate boys' raoo will fcc close.
