HOWARD HOULDEK'S AFFAIRS (B? CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION pOBTBJC&HT.) ''(AUSTRALIAN- AND >\K. CABLE" ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, January 25. At a, meeting of-'creditors"of Howard Houlder a statement of affairs, showed that Houlder in 1920 was worth £400,000. He responded to the call for help to forward the patriotic work of reconstruction necessitated by the war. The result was that he' now owed about £105,800, all unsecured. It was estimated, that the assets would about equal that amount. . A trustee was appointed.. [Howard Houlder, aged 65, chairman of Howard iHoulder and Partners, Ltd., entered his father's office of Houlder Bros, and Co. in 1876, and opened an office in Glasgow in 1881, starting business on his own account four years later. He built up a tremendous.slimbroking and shipowners' business. 'His unexpected failure caused a sensation in the City. The failure does'not. m any way affect Howard Houlder and his partners.or the Houlder Bros. Co.J
