Miller, who havo bean camping st Little Akaloa for. the past five weeks, will return to Lyttelton on Tuesday. l Captain and Mrs Dykes and family, who have been camping at ; Little' Akaloa, returned yesterday. ; Miss Gann, assistant mistress, secondary, department, Lyttelton District High School has been taken, ill on tho West/ Coast, and will .be away from her duties for some weeks. . , Messrs J. Barry and E. J Oostello .went north by the Maori last night. . The Schools. Both the. Lyttelton District High ; School and the West Lyttelton Schooh will reopen on Tuesday morning. Garden Party. Members of' the Methodist Church ore holding a garden party at the residence of Mr J. Pitcaithly, Boss terrace, at 230. p.m. to-dayi. The charge of Is entitles the .visitor to ' a pleasant afternoon. of .muaic 'and song, with afternoon tea free. The pro-. coeds „ are to bo devoted to the prize fund for the' Autumn Chrysanthemum Show, which will' be held in the Excelsior Hall early in May. • Watersldeis* Picnic. The watersiders' picnic has again been postponed until Monday, this, time .owing to the Railway- Department being unable to provide a train to-day. The position in regard to tho dispute" .between the Union and the. employers remains unaltered. A Union official stated last evening that the picnic would be" held, but there was nothing to prevent members working on Monday if they wished to do so, .
