Notes. The Lyttelton Marine Band will play a programme ol niusio at Corsair Bay to-mor-row, conirnencing at 2.45 p.m. Two rates in the Sandui-3 Cup teats will be sailed at Lytteltcn to-morrow, at 10.30 a.m.' and 2.30 p.m. respectively. It is stated that Mr F. Andrews, a well-known Kedclifis yachtsman,, will he in charge of the Secret. Members of th© Borough Council and borou_h ofhciais v.'ili on Mouuay visit the Council reserves at Charing Cross. A jumble sale and cake stall, organised by St. Saviour's Ladies' Guild, will be held in the West Lyttelton Sunday school to-day, at 2.30 p.m. Water Supply. The test bore sunk at the pumping station at Heathcote did not give satisfactory indications of water, and the bore was abandoned. A fresh bore is now being sunk to the north-west of the pumping station, near the Chinese gardeners' property. It is expected that an ample supply of artesian water will be struck on this site, which should go far to relieve the present shortage of water in Lyttelton. Maori Entertainers. An entertainment was given in the Oddfellows' Hall last evening by the Eatana Maori. Entertainers, in. aid of the fund for building a church and school at the Batana Native village, the home of Katana, of faithhealing fame. The programme wa3 a lengthy one, and the performance lasted over three hours and a half. The different items, songs, dances, hakas, part-songs, and instrumental item 3 followed each other in quick succession. Evidently the Maoris know just what appeals to popular taste, as all the numbers were well received by the large audience present. Features of the concert were the work of the orchestra of fifteen Maori ladies, and also the magnificent Maori costumes worn by the performers. Seamen's Institute. The Thuisday concert at, the Seamen's Institute was given by the Lyttelton Ladies' Guild. The seamen of the Turakina were preiwmt. A very enjoyable program me was arranged, those contributing items being: Mesdames M. J. Miller, Clarke,.T. M- Curnow, Misses Buist, Olive and Eunice Sproule. and Kugg, and the following members of the St. Saviour's Girls' Club:-ilis-es O. JJichol, ©ates, Lawler, Agar, Scott, Plimmer. Gay, Veryard. Miss Plimmer was accompaniste for the evening. Supper was served at the close of the concert.
