WELLINGTON TRAMS.
. advertising proposals. (PBES3 ASSOCIATION TEUSGBAM.) WELLINGTON, December 7. Tramway advertising iias been the subject, of a good deal of criticism lately on the ground that the City Council's conduct of matters connected with this has not been in the best interests of the ratepayers. The critics complain that the. Council's proposals for the acceptance of a new contract will involve ratepayers in an improper burden of £BOOO to £9OOO. A legal firm has now written to the Council on behalf of certain objectors, intimating that unless the proposals are rescinded, action will be taken to prevent the completion of the contract witu the tenderers, whose offer is abiput £BOOO less than that of competing firms.
