DOMAINS BOARD.
The Christchurch Domains Board mot yesterday. Present. Mr G. Harper (chairman), Dr. C. Chilton, Messrs S. A. Orchard, McGregor Wright, W. H. Winsor, C. W. Hervey, A. Freeman, J. 1\ Scott, J. A. Flesher, and E. F. fc>tead.
An application from the Conference of the (seventh Day Adventists for the use of a portion of Hagley Park for an annual camp and conference, was declined.
The curatoi\(Mr Jas. Young) reported th=it extensive planting-out work hau been done, and that Uie park fences required cutting. He also suggested that the erection of the Winter harden should, be speeded up.In discussing tne finances of the Board, the chairman said that the contractor was not pushing on with the work in the erection of the Winter Gaiden. The Board still owed the" contractor £VUO, and he felt that it should not be under any obligation to the contractor. The floor or the tea kiosk also was not satisfactory. He moved that thm matter should be referred to the Financ-e Committee with power to acv. Mr C. W. Hervey seconded the motion, which was carried. The chairman reported on behalf of the Rose Fete Committee and recommended that in consideration of the Anniversary Day Celebration being held on December loth, the Hose Day and Rose Fete be postponed until the end of January or beginning of February. Correspondence was received" from the Public Trustee advising that the sum of £lOl 18s 4d had been paid into the Board's funds, being u legacy from the late J. J. McCleliand. Permission was granted for two representative cricket matches to be played at Hagley Park on January Ist and 2nd. Permission was also granted for the taking up of a collection.
