TWO DAYS' TRIAL.

SYDNEY TO BATHURST. The feature of the two-days' run to Bathurst and back to Sydney, promoted by the '."Royal A.C.A.. was the treble success of A. G. Barnard in a 9.4-5 Fiat (slates the "Referee"). Barnard ivou the liiJl climb and petrol consumption test, and scored full points in the under '2O h.p. class. 'Under favourable weather conditions, 2fi cars were despatched without a hitch from the Royal A.C.A. in the two days' trial. Most of the prominent figures in previous trials "were competitors. E. AW Greenhani, winner of the Brisbane trial, travelled as a passenger. Tho trial ran to Bathurst lor the first day and returned to Sydney on the second, the outward route being via Katoomba, Lithgow, and Yetholme. Roads were patchy. As fai- as the Lapstone Hill, at the foot of the mountains, the surface Avas all right, but thence to Mt. Victoria was very poor. Tho Kill climb was held near Lithgow on a hill 1 4-10 miles in length. W. M. Walker's Vauxhnll made the ascent in L'min 49sec, securing fastest time-. Next was tlifc Chandler. Boyd Edkins (Yauxhall) was third. After lunch tho cars ran to Bathurst. Friday evening was spent at a smoke concert, at which the Mayor of Bathurst (Mr Badding) presided. Early on Saturday morning, Mr R. E. Chapman's Ainilear started tho homeward procession, the others following at intervals. At the turn off to Lithgow Mr and Mrs J. A. S. Jones (staunch members of the R.A.C.A.) bade them au revoir. Thence the competitors proceeded to Lithgow, where a stop was made for lunch. Cars had a straight run from Springwood back to the club-house. Every driver was on his mottle throughout the two days. Owing to the removal of the restrictions on motor spirit, many of tho drivers used Benzol, the Australianmade spirit, some using it in its original condition and others as a mixture. Coasting down hill was not permitted, and the condition that gears and clutches hod to be kept engaged throijghout met with general approval.
