The Luxor correspondent of the"Morning Post" says that Mr Howard Carter has removed from the tomb the first life-sized statue of Tqt-ank-haman, which guarded the sealed door to the mortuary chamber.' ' A second statue will be removed tomorrow. OARS FOR FUTURE USE. LONDON, November 29. Mr Howard Garter discovered 11 miniature oars for Tut-ank-hamen's use when lie crosssd the dark etrenm tbeyond the Elysian fields. The prophecy by noted scientists, as well as by self-proclaimed seers, of further great earthquakes m Japan, iscausing considerable disquiet among the populace. Mitgata Meteorological Observatory, under the sponsorship of Dr. Omorayra, a recognised authority on the origin of earthquakes, has announced that the next great disturbance can be expected within 20 years around the Shinano river, in northwestern Japan, where a vast earthquake occurred in the past century. The observatory is not. able to locate the exact date of future visitations.
