During the past month the Beckenham Nursing Division,of St; John Ambulance Brigade has been very busy working in all branches of first-aid,and home nursing'. Dr. Pullon paid* a visit to the.Division and lectured on Insensibility and Haemorrhage. The two hours spent proved most instruct tive, and the Doctor was accorded a • hearty vote "of thanks. WEDDINGS. HOLDGATE—HALLIDAY. At 4.30 yesterday afternoon, at ,St. Marv's Church, Merivale, tho Rev. A. H. Norris, of Cashmere Hills, solemnised the marriage of Mr Ralph Holdgate, elder son of Mr and Mrs John Hole/gate, Timaru,.and Mies Valencia Merle Tfalliday, only daughter of Mr and Mrs D. B. Halliday, Onslow street, Chrktchurch. '-.,•. Mr Davis Hunt provided suitable nuptial music, Mr Keith Holdgate, of Duf.euln, was best man, and Mr Loris Halliday, was groomsman. Tho bride, who was escorted to the altar bv her father, wore a beautiful dress of opal-pink duchesse satin, with volnminou3 georgette sleeves, .which fell below the hem of tho frock and formed two short trains. Tho low waist line was defined with sprays of silver leaves and hand-made georgette flowers. Her veil-of opal-pink silk net, was held in position by a chaplet of pink flowers nr.d silver leaves, and she carried a sheaf of arum lilies. • The two bridesmaids, Miss Dorothy Gibbs cousin of the bride, and Miss UevTy Hoklgaie, sister of tho bridegroom, were dressed alike "in opal-pink silk morocnin frocks, with silver lace berthes and silver shoes and stockings. Their hats had silk net petal brims, while flie crowns were composed of treTlxsed silver ribbons, wtih eau-dc-nil and silver posies, and they carried bouquets of pink sweet peas, veiled with eau-dc-nil tulle. After the ceremony the bride's parents held a leception in the Jellicoe Hall. Mrs Halliday wore, a handsome gown oi navy crepe satin, with gcorge'tte sleeves inset with natin bands, and a navy hat with large bow in front. Shecnrried n bouquet of old gold rose*. Mrs Holdgate, mother of the bridegroom, wore black georgette, the sleeves heavily embroidered with steel beads and a black hat with tulle. rosettes. BADBURND—KENNEDY. - A very pretty wedding. was celebrated/at St. Joseph's Church, Temuka, when Agnes, daughter of Mr and Mrs B. Kennedy, was married to Gordon, youngest son of .Mr E. Radbumd, Temuka. The Rev. Father Fay performed the ceremony. The bride entered the church on the arm of her brother, Mr R. Mayne. She wore a pretty frock of white satin, beaded ,and embroidered with shamrocks in silver, and finished with a girdle of'crocheted medallions. Her embroidered tulle veil was hung over a wreath of orange blossoms, and a lovely shower bouquet of lilies of the valley and pink rosebuds and maidenhair fern completed -her toilet. She was attended by her niece, Miss Ethel Mayne, ns chief bridesmaid. Miss Mayrie wore a dainty white frock, trimmed with forget-me-not blue; in her hair was a wreath of forget-me-nots over a tulle • veil. She carried a shower bouquet of hothouse flowers and fern, and wore a gold brooch set with rubies and pearls, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr Frank RadburnS acted as best man. After the ceremony th© guestis were entertained at breakfast in the Catholic Hall, Father Fay presiding. The wefiaing presents were - beautiful and numerous, including.-many useful articles for the kitchen received at an evening given the bride tlio week before by Mr and Mrs G; Radbumd. ; ' The tride and bridegroom left by motor for tbe South, amid showers of confetti and, rice,- the bride travelling in a smartly-braided naivy-tailored costume and a bluVmole hat.

Panckhursfc,, M'unson street, Reefton, to Mr Wilfred John Dick, eldest son of Mr J. Dick, of Reefton. The service, which waa choral, was performeu by Rev. J. W. Two younger bridesmaids, Misses Connie and Clauda Panckhurst, wore ffocks of pale salmon-pink silk with cape collars' and niching, and lacestraw hats with .tiny sprays of roses. Mr Gordon. Dick attended as best man, 'The newly-married, couple left by special motor for Greymouth en route for Auckland, their future home.
