When a wife remarked at the Magistrate's Court, Auckland, in a maintenance case: "I can't live on the amount named," Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., replied: "I can't help it, your husband has to live as well." The.evidence showed that the wife had four children under 16 years, that her husband, a worker in the bush,' paid a pound per week interest on the house and land of H acres in which the wife lived, also that he had offered her 30s per week.
