CASUALTIES.
INQUESTS. Mi- Wyvern Wilson, Coroner, held an enquiry into the death of Thoma3 Bishop, aged 80-years, of 23 Hastings street, who died while on a visit to his 6on, F. I). Bishop. Air Bishop a railway foreman, said his father lell suddenly while they were standing in the garden together. The deceased's wile, Emily. Bishop, also gave evidence. Dr. Currie, who was called to the, hou6e, said that death was due to heart, failure arising from senile decay. The verdict was in accordance with the medical testimony. An inquest touching the death of a child, Graham George Weeks, aged two years and ten mouths, was held by Mr Wyvern Wilson; Coroner. The death occurred at 11 Clifton street, Addington. Rebecca Weeks, mother of the child, said he had been attended by a doctor about six weeks ago for an "injury re-' suiting from a fail. Earlier he had what was believed to be rickets. Ho, had seemed, also, always to suffer from a kind of bronchial cold. At 5.30 p.m. the child had tea and afterwards played about. He was blowing a toy whistle. About 8 p.m. witness put him, to bed. He said he 'did' not feel well. While witness was waiting ;for him to go to sleep he clenched htf' hands and collapsed. He was dead before witness could curry him to the diningroom. ' •' • • "" Dr. T. Davis, who was called in when the child. collapsed, 6aid life was extinct when he arrived. Effoits at resuscitation were of no avail. He considered that death was due to heart failure, on by convulsions, due to chronic bronchitis. '• , A verdict in accordance with tho medical evidence was returned;

W. D. Sullivan, of 9 York street, Opawa, was riding a,bicycle; and hanging on to a motor-car on Saturday evening, when, by- some means, he was dragged uhderneath the car. He fractured an arm arid a leg, and was admitted to the; Christchurch Hospital. Last night his condition was stated to be satisfactory, . , " : '. C.
