ATHLETICS.
KIRWEE CLUB. At the annual meeting of the Kirwee Amateur Athletic Club the president \.iir K Aiurchison) was in ths cnair. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The report stated that the cmb had had a very aUL-cesdlul year. Omy evening meetings had been held, and., were well patronised by members. lhe members of the Club had been very yuocesslul at other meetings, and B. Roper had taKen second place in the pole jump championship ol Canterbury. 'j,'he balance-sheet showed a credit of £l2 6s 6d. It was decided to start thy evening meetings on October 4th, at the close of the first half of the evening meetings to hold a sports meeting, including events for ei'hool children.
Messrs L. Denton, R. McMeekan, N. Kelly, C. Johnston, A. E. Laing and Hi Foster were appointed a Ground Committee.
