A inoat successful function was held -hy tlio Christofiurch Druids on Thursday evening in ihe Orange Hall. The occasion was the presentation of prizes woii during the winter in tho ritual competitions held under tho aUßjjiices of the Royal Aroh Chapter. Royal Arch Druid Bro. M. Q'Donotiue occupied tho chair and the Grand President of Canterbury (Bro. Edw. Cameron) presented the p rises. There wero also present nine Past Grand Presidents, including tho first Grand President, Bro. Edwin Harris (1880). The. winners of the prizes were:—Bros. EGeorge (Ivy of Ltnwood), L. Hegan (Lfiy of Richmond), T. Burgess (Ivy of Liiiwood). W. H. Jones (Perseverance); H. E, Bigg (Ivy. of Linwood,, J. .K. Talbot (Mistlotce),. W. Schumacher (Oak of Sydenham), F. Hughes (liisfletoe), and C... J. Tonkin (Ivy of Linwood). TH» champion team of Christchurch for 1923-IJ4 is the I*ily of Richmond officers, a,nd the sit of gavels was handed over to P.D.P. Bro. Conroy. who is tie sitting Arch Druid. The following programme was given during tho evening:—Pianoforte selection, Bro.. &■ George, bobes, Bros. J. Edmonds, T. Ryder, K. Campbell, T. Burgess, "Woods and Hutfon apd Mr Robertson; cornet duet, Brca. Craig and Bardsley; recitations, Bros. Worthington and Betts. Bro. 1... George acted as accompanist, and Bro. J. 'W. Batley had charge of the catering.
