(THOK OUB OWK COMISPOItDKrr.) LONDON, July 26. Mr and Mrs S. S. Blackburaa (Christchurch) spent a week in London with their son, Mr Shirley Blackburne who is studying architecture here, and then they went to Bedford to see their daughter, Miss Kathleen Blackburn®, who is a Btudent at the Bedfohl Physical Training College. They were present at the annual "Demonstration" of that College. Future plans axe un« decided. Mr and Mrs Blackburne maydecide to remain here altogether, or they jnay go back to the Dominion in two or three years' time. During the next few months they will be residing at Worthing or at iiudtord, and they will visit relatives in other parts of England. Mr and Mrs C. R. Bidwill have boon in London for the past month, but they are about to make a tour in the United Kingdom, to be followed by travoi m France and Spain. They will leave for New Zealand about January, via the United States. At St. Philip's, Burwash Weald, Sussex, on 12th inst., the wedding took place of Commander Robert Jamos Buchanan, D.5.0., R.N. (retired), younger son of the late Sir George liuchanan, M.D., F.R.S., and of Lady Buchanan, to Katherine Gladys, daughter of Air and Mrs A. E. Kornot, of Auckland. At All Saints, Ennismore Gardens, a wedding of New Zealand interest took place on 24th instant. The bridegroom, was William Earnest Pearson (li. P A.), son of Mr and Mrs Robert Pearson, i The Hermitage, Ampleforth, Yorks, ! the bride was Daphne Prescott-Davios, only daughter of the late Mr N. Pres- | cott Ddvies, R.8.A., R.C.A., Radway, Warwickshire, and Mrs PrescottDavies, 223, Maida Vale, London. The ceremony was performed by tho Rev. Canon A. Deane, assisted by tho Rev. Vivian Dodgson (uncle of the bride). For more than a year Mrs C. W. Earl© and Miss Beryl Earle (Wellington) have been living in Naples, where the latter has been continuing' her musical studies under Professor. A. Roche, of the Reale Conservatorio, San Jfietro di Mazolia, and where she has; made excellent progress. In order to avoid 'the great heat experienced in: 1 Southern Italy at this time of the year. Mrs and Miss Earle are in London, where they are finding the comparative calm of the place and people restful; They were in Naples during the Fascisti Revolution, so they have seen various phases of Italian life.
