Italy and Greece. Sigr.or Mussolini, Italian Primo Minister, informed his Cabinet that it was inadmissible for tho League of Nations to intervene in the dispute between Italy and Greece. If the League insisted, Italy would withdraw from membership. Cabinet entirely endorsed the Premier's attitude. A Geneva message savs ihe Norwegian, Swedish and Little Untento delegates at Geneva havo intimated their intention of withdrawing from the League unless it deals with the dispute. Japanese Disaster. Later messages from various sources emphasise- tho immensity aitd appalling nature of the catastrophe in Jai'an. • It is stated that the casualties total 500,000, and that bodies are being cremated wholesale in the burning debris. Germany and Separation. It is believed' that the German Chancellor, Herr Stresemann, will shortly made a definite offer to settle the reparation question. Labour in Britain. The question of the failure of the "Back to the Union" campaign at the Trade Union Congress at Plymouth, and hot words passed between the delegates. Empire Sentiment. Dr. T. J. Macnamara, MJP., expresses dismay at the slow progress that is being made under the British Empire Settlement Act. Irish. Affaire. Mr Desmond Fitzgerald, Free StateMinister of External Affairs, says de Valera will be kept in prison until Ireland has been completely pacified.
