* CHRISTCHURCH SPORTS CLUB. COMMITTEE RESIGNS. A meeting cf the committee of the Christchurch Sports Club was held last nightPresent—Mr A. Fair bairn, vice-president (chairman), and Messrs M. Barnett, R. S. Draper, P. C. Crooke, AV. S. E. Moyl e , H. X). Johnston and G. S. Hutchison. The chairman said that the meeting had been called in order to consider the question ol suggested alterations made to the rules, To deal with U213 and another question, he moved that the meeting go into committee. It had also been decide" that it be a recommendation to the meeting that the constitution of the jNew Zealand Boxing Council be altered to provide for centre representatives in Canterbury, Otago, Southland, West Coast and Aelson in the South Island, with five similar territorial organisations in the North Island, the hew Zealand Boxing Council to be constituted from direct representatives from eaca centre, who will not only 'represent the centres, but various clubs and associations, and these centres are to be registered aa their official representatives. It was - also reported that there was a credit balance in hand of £251 8s Bd. WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION AND NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. Some idea of the strained relations existing between the "Wellington Boxing Association and the New Zealand Boxing Council was given at a meeting of the Wellington Association on Monday evening, when a request for the payment of tile annual subccription was received from tho Council, (says the "Post"). The treasurer, Mr B. Guise, explained that he liad -not forwarded the amount until he could confer with the other members. A levy of a further 2i per cent, had previously been made on the Association, allegedly for the purpose of financing the amateur team to compete in the Australasian championships, but apparently the money had not been used for this purpose. Mr Staples • "I will move that Mr Atack be asked for a statement of acoounts before the money is paid over." Mr Mellish: "I am Btrongly opposed to fleeing the money used to finance a team of men who are not champions of New Zealand, and who never would have been if a proper tournament had been haid and all the rules, observed. However, we have tj be careful that the Council does iiot cancel our affiliation, and thus l-ai us fio-.n holding the 'conference here in October." The president, Mr E. W. Mr-VUly, was of the opinion that the Association Bhoiild keep itrelf.financial, and at his suggestion it was decided to forward tbe requested subscription. On the motion of Mr Staples, seconded by Mr Woods, it was then decided to write to the Council, demanding a statement of accounts.
