TENDERS FOR DEBENtures.
A special meeting of the Christchurch Drainage Board was hsld last evening to consider matters relating .to the new loan works for sewerage extension. The business was conducted in committee. It. was decided to invite tenders throughout New Zealand for the purchase of £200,000 worth of debentures, being the first instalment of the loan to provide for the cost of the first portion of the work to be undertaken. The engineer was instructed to preparo forthwith specifications of the pipes required preparatory to the calling of alternative, iron or concrete for certain special work, and concrete or earthenware for the ordinary reticulation.
