Italy and Greece. A grave situation has developed iu regard to the murder of the Italian Commissioners. The Greek Cabinet has decided to agree to indemnify the relatives of the murdered men, but to require a modification of the Italian demands, which are regarded as humiliating. Separation Problem. It is expected that a meeting of Allied Ministers will be held early this month. The Italian* Prime Minister made an important statement regarding the Ruhr situation and Italy's policy "on tlio reparation and debt questions. Irish Elections. Throughout the Free State the voting was four to one in favour of the Treaty supporters. Of 99 seats decided, the Government secured 41, the Republicans 28, and the other parties 30. Mr Cosgravo says the result is a complete endorsement of the Government's policy. Illicit liquor Traffic. The Canadian Customs officials have been instructed to refuse clearances to small vessels with bonded cargoes. This is an attempt to assist tiie United States to check the illicit liquor traffic. United States Problems. The Washington correspondent of the "Chicago Tribune" says that evidences oi unrest in the insular possessions and dependencies of the United States, continue to grow.
