BOWLING.
KAIAPOI CLUB.
The tweniy-first annual meeting of the i£aiapoi Bowling Club was lield on Thursday evening. The president, Mr J. B. wylie, presiding over'a good attendance. ' The ropori. stated that the past season had been very successful, keen- interest being taken in competitions. The club had been represented at the dominion championships ueld at Auckland, and also at the Centre championships. The winners' of the club competitions were, as follows: —Champion Ooudlcs: X. C. Butchei and J. F. Miller. Handicap Doubles, (Wilton trophy): Dr. M. rtamsay and W. G. Clarke. Kink Championship : J. tB. Wylie. J. G. Yellowlees, F. i'isher, and J. W. Barnard. The report and balance-sheet, the latter showing a credit balance of £lO 13s ad, were adopted. The election of officers resulted:—President, Dr. M. Ramsay; vice-presidents, Messrs H. Wilson t.nd E. E. Papprill; secretary and treasurer, Mr H. W. Child®; auditor, Mr A.. S. Palmer; delegate to Centre, Mr L. G. Blackwell; green, superintendent, Mr T. C. .-iutcher; match committee, Rev. W. B. Scott, Messni L. B. Evans, H. Wilson, and Dr. M. Ramsay; general committee, Messrs J: G. Yellowlees, A. Pearce, 'and A. S. Palmer. Fourteen new members were elected. It was decided that the opening day of the season should be held on Saturday, October 13th. The thanks of., the club were extended to the retiring officers, the green superintendent (Mr Butcher), the greenkeeper (Mr •Jowers), and appreciative reference was made to the excellent manner in which the secretary (Mr C-hilds) had carried out his duties during the past season.
KAIAPOI WORKING MEN'S CLUB. .The annual meeting of the Kaiapoi Working Men's Bowling Club was held on Thursday evening, the president, Mr T. Gray, presiding over a good attendance of members. The annual report and balance-sheet, the latter showing a. credit balance of £ll 0s 4d, were adopted. ■The following officers were elected:—President. Mi: J. E. Monk; vice-presidents, Messrs T. Gray, E. {Bristow, W.. R. Coup, and S. J. Richards; secretary, Mr R. Johnston; committee, Messrs L. Collins, J. Richardson, L. McAllister, J. Brown, J. Drabble, H. Hemingway, W. Simpson, T. Mably, G. Hall; auditor, Mr J. Ball; Centre delegate, Mr T. Healey;. green superintendent, Mr J., A. Mealings. •Trophies won during the past &ea?on were presented as follows: —Champion Singles: J. A. dealings (gold medal and Hickmott Shield). Handicap Singles: G. Hall (Quill, Morris Cup). Champion Doubles: Monk and Mealings. Champion Rink: G. Hall, T. Gray, J. A. Mealings, and J. E. Monk. It was decided that it be a recommendation to the incoming committee tbs-t in future « trophy be presented with the Quill, Morris Cup, also that the committee be asked to consider the advisability of reserving -one rink'at nights for learners. It was resolved that the annual subscription should be raised to 7s 6d. Votes of thanks to the outgoing president, committee, and donors of trophies concluded the'meeting.
