The Berlin correspondent of the •''Daily Chronicle" paints a dark picture of the economic situation in Germany. He says everything is steadily going bankrupt, and unemployment ir going to be widespread during the winter. Reparation Problem. Beports from Berlin foreshadow a change in Germany's policy in regard to the Buhr. It is said the Government intends to open negotiations with France, and abandon passive resistance, and that an agreement will shortly be reached. Italy and Greece. A grave crisis is reported to havo arisen between Italy and Greece regarding the murder of Italian members of the Boundary Commission. Xndiaji Affairs. Sensational evidence was given at the trial of the leaders of the Babbar Akalis in the Punjab. Irish Elections. The latest figures in connexion with the Free State elections give the Government 34 seats, Independents 11, Republicans 10, Farmers 5, Labour 3. Mr de Valera headed the poll in County Clare. South African Politics. The South African Government lost a seat at a by-election, an Independent being elected.
