WELLINGTON COMPETITIONS.
(pr.ESS ASSOCIATION TELEOEAH.) WELLINGTON, August 29. At the competitions the results were:— Song, girls 16 to 18, ."Summer Days and Nishts"—Mies Ina Thompson (Napier), 81 points, 1; Miss L. Hutchings (Wellington), 79 points, 2; Miss Ailsa Nichol (Lower Hutt), 77 points, 3. The judge, Mr Roland Foster, said Miss Thomps-on possessed a full, rich voice, which should develop into a good contralto according- to present indications. Operatic Tenor Solo, "Long Ago in Egypt" Alfred Thompson (Christchurch), James Taylor, and Leonard Daniel! (Wellington), So points each, equal, 1. The judge said, on the whole, they were so equal that it was impossible to separate them. Although missing effective points, all showed artistic judgment and control of their vocal powers.
