SALARIES OF P. AND T. OFFICERS.
LABOUR AMENDMENT LOST BY ONE VOTE. (special to "the press.") WELLINGTON, August 2. In the House of Eepresentatives tonight, Mr Holland moved to reduce a \ote on the Estimates as an indication that the salaries of Post and Tolegraph officers should be restored to the prewar standard before any reduction in income-tax is made. Tho Liberals followed the Labour Party into the Ayes lobby. The division list was:—
