SMALL STEAMER WRECKED.
# CREW LAND SAFELY. ; (BI CABLB—FBBSS iBSOOIXTIOW—COPYRIGHT.) (AT7BTBAUAX AHD U.S. CABLB ABB-CIATIOX.) SYDNEY, July 12. Fifteen members of the crew of the steamer Wallamba, which went ashore at Mornapoi (Norah Point) last night, are missing. The steamer was bound from Newcastle to Manning River with a general cargo, unly meagre details of the wreck are to hand. It is reported that campers saw the crew approaching the point and called out that the landing was unsafe. The boats containing the crew turned south and up to this morning had not been reported. They have possibly landed, but in the meantime the tug Ajax has left Newcastle in search of the missing boats. The Wallamba, a wooden vessel of 331 tons, is hard and fast on the rocks and her deck cargo is washing ashore. The sea, following the renewal of the wet and stormy conditions, is very rough. Later. The crew of the Wallamba landed safely at Port Stephens. The Wallamba is a complete wreck. Only the tops of her masts are now showing above the water. All the crew are safe. a
