During a debate in the Chamber of Deputies on a Bill aiming at the conservation of petrol supplies, the Chairman of Committees said that France was confronted with British and American trusts which might some day be unitod against her. He declared that France depended on foreigners for 90 per cent, of her supplies in peace time, and 95 per cent, in war time. The Bill proposes bonuses to encourage research and the creation of an oil-carrying fleet.
