House of Commons, in reply to questions, the Prime Minister, Mr Baldwin, said lie did not intend, prior to the Imperial Conference, to stato tho policy of the Government on the matters to bo discussed. A debate thereon, at the present time, would servo no useful purpose. The question whether tho G.vernment's policy would extend to preference on foodstuffs could not be answered, ns a mass of evidence on the subject must be submitted and explored.
