BRITISH ARMY'S SHOOTING.

LIGHT AUTOMATIC GUNS. (BT CABLB—P3ESS ASSOCIATION—COPTBIOHT.) (AUBTBALIAH AND N.Z. CABLE ABSlCIATIOB.) LONDON, July 8. The most important innovations at Bisloy this year will) be the introduction of competitions between light automatic gunf.. the Hotchkiss and the Lewis. This step clearly indicates that the Empire is on the threshold of changes in the musketry training of troops, and the organisation and equipment of cavalry and infantry. The General Staff, regarding efficiency in the use of light automatio guns a& an urgent necessity, has laid down new regulations for training, which will shortly be explained in the new 6maHarms training manual. The soldier of the future must bo expert with the light automatio gun as well as with the rifle. The new competitions have added interest to the Bisley meeting.
