A Blenheim message says the Wairau River Board appointed Messrs "Vickerman and Lancaster, of Wellington, the Board's engineers to make a survey of the river 2at3 from Waihopai to" the sea, covering some 90 square miles. They are also to report on the hydraulic and flood conditions of the rivers and outline a scheme on economic lines to give relief from floods.
