A firemanj'named Tekeie'oke, a .Raroto'n<ran, plunged to the rescue and helped to support the couple. Next f?l|° w 'ed the Moiirilyan'B chief officer, W. J*. Ilbbinson, who also gave valuafokr aid. A boat from the scow E*hel Wells put. off and took all .four aboard, the child and his grandmother continuing their- journey : to Auckland.
