SLIPS BLOCK TRAFFIC. (EMSB3 ASSOaiTION TSLEGKAK.) AUOELAD3>, July 4. Two heavy landslides, one Kakahi and Owhango, south of Tauanarunui, and the other between Ma'taroa and 'Taihape have blocked the |fcfai» Trunk line. The Kakahi slide occikrred at about 5 p.m., and that at Mabaroa an hour later. The South-bound njixed train ran into the Kakahi elip. ' Tha engine was derailed, but nobody burt. The extent of the damage is urjk&own here. It is expected that it will taka 12 to 14 hours to clear the slips, In the meantime traffic is suspended. The South-bound express is expected to ipeacb. Wellington about midnight to-niot-row, and the North-bound train to reachi here about 5 p.m. to-morrow. The northward train is held at Taihape and the south-bound at Taumarunui for the night. Passengers' luggage and bails will probahlv have to ba transferred at one or both slips.
