The first publicly notified duel since the beginning of the war was fought on the outskirts of the city between two French barristers, Campinchi and Barquisseau. The men fought with rapiers. In the third bout, their seconds ended the encounter because Barquisseau was twice wounded. The reason for the duel ia not published.
