In the men's singles, aiunter beat do Goinar, 3-6, 4-8, 6-1, &-3, 6-3, thus reaching the aemi-finaL Lycett and Godfrea defeated Roper Barrett and Norton, 4-6, &4, ft-3, &6> &-£; Misses Kyan a:ad. McKajie furnished tho beat match of the day at Wimbledon. Miss Evan commenced in a .remarkable fadhion. Sh«. controlled her chopped drives •finely, being- helped by the fact that Miss McKane was unusually emtio, and her eeryice was poor. Mies McKane greatly improved in the second Eet, when Miss, Kyan eeemed nervous. The third set was a ding-dong battle. Miss Ryan reached 4-3, trat Miss McKane luckily went to the net and won by clever volleying coups.
