FIRE IN PEKING.
OFFICIALS ARRESTED. (BT CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYMOHT.) (BEYER'S TELEGBAM9.) I PEKING, July 2. The chief eunuch and seven assistants have been arrested on suspicion of inoendiarism in connexion with the recent firo in tho ex-Emperor's apartments. [A previous message said a fire, believed to be incendiary, swept the ''Forbidden City," destroying the ancient Imperial Historical Hall, containing the ancestral relics of all the Emperors. Dozens of surrounding buildings were rased. The records of tho oldest dynasties were destroyed.]
