A Perthshire constable travelled more than 11,000 miles to Australia to take into custody from the New South Wales police, Usherwood Lyburn, :i potato merchant, who was charged with absconding from Scotland after sequestration (order for seizure of property by the Court) had been awarded against him, and taking money due t-o his creditors. When Lyburn appeared at Perth Sheriff Oourt he was discharged, the sheriff directing tho jury that sequestration was not awarded because there was no citation (summons to appear), and the prosecution failed.
