! MONTHLY MEETING. ' The monthly meeting o£ tho New Zealand Utility Poultry Club was held last evening, Mr W. E Green' presiding. Lady Clifford, Sir I». Heaton Rhodes, Mr Cr. Witty, M.P., the Hon. D. Buddo, M.P., and Messrs H. F. Herbert, James Galder, John Jan-is, and J. N. McLean wroto accepting office 03 vice-patrons of the club. A letter was received from Mr J. W. Green returning thanks for his election c« a life member of tho club. Tho caretaker- reported that tho last month' had been very favourable for egg-production except for a few hard frosts. Tho egg yield lor t.he month was tho best ho had had since he took charge. The Government poultry experts had stated that the texture of the eggs was the finest they liad judged. The tre-nsurer reported that receipts totalled £330 18s 3d, and bank balance £sl 0s 2d, and csDenditure £260 Oa 3d, leaving a balanca oi 4121 17a Bd. A cji3cusaion tool: place on tha quality of curtain fodder supplied to tho clul> for it 3 competition at Papanui. It was decided to ask tho Fodder Committee to try to obtain a' uniform quality of fodder from tils ssmo mill each time, and to instruct tha caretaker to reject unsuitable fodder. A member- stated that there was euro to bo P, very serious shcrtags r '*i wheat in the near future, and suggested that tho farm should lay in re supply for the competitions. It was decided to ask tho Fodder Committ3e to t'&e into consideration the matter of procuring such a supply and of storing it. * The Educational Committee recommended tho institution o: a question bos for tho convenience of members. A cyllabus oi lectures for tho coming season was approved.
