DRAINAGE BOARD POLLS.
PAPANUI'S SUPPORT. In addition to the items dealt with by the Papanui Progress L ague at its meeting on Monday night, was the question of the Drainage Board poll next week. The secretary, the Rev. T. N, Griffin, introduced the subject as one of very great importance, and one upon which the League should give a luad. Ho thought there could only be one mind upon the need of a good drainage and high-pressur© water system for Papanui, and moved the following motion, which whs seconded by Mr William Keith, supported by several members, and carried: —"Tliat the League recommends the ratepayers in the P.ipanui area to support the scheme to be submitted to thi m next week by the Drainage Board regarding loans, etc., believing it will be in the best interests of the district."
