Wewetzer, of the four, masted schooner Forest Home, whici* arrived in the stream yesterdaj morning from Vanoouver, reports having been appealed to for provisions by the inhabitants of the island of Aitutajcai, in the Cook Group, wuiie passing tuere on March 26th. He w.aa able to give some rice biscuits from the ship's stores, but the amount was not suificient to last long. A Government official on tho Islands came out to the Forest Home in a boat flying the Blue Ensign and asked for supplies, owing to the food on the island having gone bad.
